Our story
Hello and welcome,
I'm Denya and I have always loved jewellery. When I was a child in South Africa I used to make earrings out of squashed Coke and Fanta bottle lids and sell them.
Six years ago I was recovering from double mastectomies after a genetic breast cancer diagnosis when I read about a product called metal clay. I was intrigued and ended up doing a one day taster course at the then Sussex Jewellery School. Metal clay is a wonderful recycled product which starts life as a blob of what looks like window putty. It is completely malleable and very easy to personalise.
It’s in the firing where the alchemy happens! The once ugly-duckling piece of unfinished jewellery turns, in the blink of an eye, into a stunning piece of 99.9% pure silver. From the very first time I worked with the product I was hooked. I’ve been working with metal clay ever since and have gone on to do an intensive diploma in metal clay proficiency as well as many other training courses. Since then I have also gone on to add shrink plastic designs to my portfolio.
Using my second chance wisely, I gave up my high-flying corporate life to pursue my passion for designing and making contemporary and keepsake jewellery and now run my business from my gorgeous home studio set in the West Sussex countryside.
Making jewellery and seeing the delight on my customer's faces when they see their finished piece is what inspires me and keeps me smiling.
